A question about one of the six listings, a correction to something on this site, or an operator enquiry: write to [email protected] and I will reply, usually within a few days. I read everything, including the emails telling me I am wrong about the ceiling.
Before you write
I am one person with a website, not a booking platform, so there are three things I genuinely cannot do. I cannot change, refund or cancel a booking — that is GetYourGuide, through the confirmation email they sent you. I cannot sell you a visit ticket or a show ticket — visits are sold online by the Opéra, none at the door, as explained at why you can’t just walk in, and show tickets live at operadeparis.fr. And I cannot open the auditorium when a rehearsal has closed it — nobody can, which is the point of the hours and closures page.
What I am useful for
Which listing suits your party, whether you need one at all, and the questions the official site answers stiffly — what to wear, what you can carry, which corner to stand at. Most of it is already written: start with all tickets and tours and the reviews, or go straight to how to get there if the question is the métro. Corrections are the emails I like best — rates and hours move, and I would rather hear about a stale detail from you than leave it standing.
Where this is written from
The 9th arrondissement, a short walk from the house this site is about: the Palais Garnier on Google Maps. The official house, which is not me, is the Opéra national de Paris.
